PriceBaba Redone: More Than Just a Coat of Paint

PriceBaba started a little over 3 years ago as a website that listed local prices of mobile phones. Since then, it has come a long way. We kept adding thousands of local stores across India to our platform. We added listings from popular ecommerce sites after the rise of exclusively sold brands like Motorola. We kept building and refining the feature-set, but there was one thing that we admit took little longer to do — a visual overhaul.

But it is finally here! And it’s a lot more than just a fresh coat of paint. We’ve improved certain key features sitewide that tied in well with the new design. The new logo is friendly and designed to convey our location-based discovery platform. Our developers have been hard at work, spending many tiring weeks with the overhaul. A reasonable amount of time was spent recrafting the product, making it easier for you to use it. PriceBaba.com was always mobile-friendly, but the new design brings more consistency, so you’ll have a familiar experience no matter what device you’re using it on.

There have also been dramatic changes across the code to improve performance. For instance, page size on some of the important pages have been reduced by up to 60 percent. This should make PriceBaba fast on entry-level smartphones. And blazingly fast on newer, faster smartphones.

Oh and by the way, we’re not done. We’re already working on a lot more interesting things that you will see in the coming weeks and beyond.
