Samsung Phones

Did you know Samsung has more than 70 phones selling in the Indian market? So, how do you decide which will be your next Samsung phone? Majority of us get confused while selecting which phone to purchase. But before you start shortlisting one, you should ask yourself a few simple questions like — what are you going to use the phone for? Do I need a very good camera as I use Instagram a lot? Will I be playing games or using more heavy apps?

We, at PriceBaba, kept all such important questions a buyer considers while making a purchase decision and tried to find the best match as per user’s requirements.

Let’s get started with Samsung’s latest and greatest flagship smartphone — The Galaxy Note 4. The 5.7 inch device is almost like a mini computer. Samsung has hugely improvised the unique S Pen which is peculiar of its series. It comes with a 16 megapixel primary camera and a 3.7 MP secondary camera. But you get all of this at a hefty price tag of Rs. 55,000/-.

If that price makes you frown, you might want to consider its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 3 as it sells for a lot less, at Rs. 34,000/- to be precise. It runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat but a 5.0 Lollipop update is in the works. If the budget is still pinching you, you can go for the Note 3 Neo.

The Note 3 Neo looks almost as same as the Note 3 and is a lot cheaper. It will still offer you the S-Pen experience, with some obvious watering down of some features and specs.

If you really want a phone with all the flagship features, but would like a smaller screen size, then you can opt for the Galaxy S5. It has an excellent camera and different features at one’s disposal to play along with their photos. And, in addition it will save you a lot of money.

But, if you’re the one who likes large screen phones, but find the Note series too costly then you can go for the Galaxy Mega 2. The Galaxy Mega 2 entered the market in August, 2014 and is new in comparison to the Note series. It sports a 5 MP front camera and is a 6 inch phone. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 20,500. Just like how the S5 is an alternative to the Note 4, the Galaxy E7 is a good option to consider against the Mega 2. It has a slightly smaller screen but scores better in other specs.

In this world of smartphones, where almost every phone which is releasing is 5 inches or more than that, finding a compact sized phone can be tough. There really aren’t many compact sized phones left, but the ones you should be considering are Galaxy A3 or the Galaxy S5 Mini. Both the phones are 4.5 inches in screen size which would be comfortable in your hands. If you find the prices of these phones expensive and a little out of your budget then you can consider buying the Galaxy S4 Mini which is cheaper by approximately Rs. 6,000.

We do know that all Samsung phones look similar, but if you want a stylish phone then you can go for the Galaxy Alpha. Unlike the plastic build of the Samsung phones, the Galaxy Alpha has a metal frame with a polished edge making it look pretty slick. You can get a Galaxy Alpha for as low as Rs. 27,000, but if you miss out on that deal then you can also pick up the Galaxy A5.

The Galaxy A5 has a 5 Megapixel front camera which will let you take the best selfies. It also has some interesting features like while clicking a selfie, one can simply wave their hand or say, “Cheese” and the phone captures the selfie. Apart from that, it has the same aluminium bezel which will instantly give you the feel of a premium phone in your hand. The phone comes for Rs. 24,500, and although it may not have the best specs-to-price ratio, what you’re paying for is the premium form factor.

If you have budget constraints, and are looking for a phone with a good front camera to ensure that your selfies look good, you can consider the Galaxy Grand Prime which is priced at Rs. 14,200 and comes with decent configuration for the budget. And if you’re not willing to spend more than Rs. 10,000 then you should consider buying the Galaxy Core Prime as it is the only decent option in the lower price range.
